Article 13 – Membership fees

1.  Administration fees: administration fees may be charged if payment deadlines are missed. If authorisation for direct debit has not been given, a surcharge of €2.50 will be added to the membership fee due.
    
2. Payment arrangements: the treasurer is authorised to make individual payment arrangements; requests for these must be submitted by 15 June.
    
3. Membership fees for new members: for those joining during the current club year, the membership fee will be calculated on a pro rata basis from 1 October. If a member joins during the season, payment must be made or collected no later than two weeks after the date of registration.
    
4. Membership fee amount: the annual membership fee for all categories is set at the General Members’ Meeting at the end of the previous season, following a recommendation from the committee.
    
5. Payment of membership fees: the annual amount must be paid in full before 1 July of the new club year. Direct debits for this purpose are collected on 15 June each year.
    
6. Exemption fees: these must be paid by the applicant themselves to the club immediately upon request, and the club must in turn pay the full amount to Rugby Nederland. The fee for this exemption, which does not include a medical examination, is €25 (2020–2021 season rates). Rugby Nederland does not charge any fees for the girls’ Colts.
    
7. Family discount: when a third person or more joins as a member, the youngest person receives a 50% discount on the club membership fee (i.e. not on the Rugby Nederland portion). This also applies to any fourth person, and so on. You are eligible for this if three people from the same family, living at the same address, are playing members of our club. If you register during the current club year, the discount will be calculated on a pro rata basis, in accordance with the membership fee allocation formula.
    
8. Medical examinations and costs: any medical examinations are at the applicant’s discretion and expense.
    
9. Cancellation: this must be made before 1 June of the following season, which starts on 1 July. Cancellations during the season will not result in any refund (see also Articles 4 and 5 of the Articles of Association).
    
10. Student discount: a student is defined as someone enrolled on a vocational (MBO), higher vocational (HBO) or university course. They are entitled to a 10% discount on their club membership fee (excluding the RN component) subject to conditions set by the committee. Eligibility for the student discount applies from the Colts category onwards and is exclusively for playing members. If a member joins during the current club year, the discount will be calculated on a pro rata basis, in accordance with the membership fee allocation formula.
     
11. Rugby Nederland Talent Programme: participants in National Talent Programmes may submit a request for financial support from the club. The board will assess each application individually and decide whether or not to grant it, depending in part on the available talent budget.
     
12. Regio Rugby Talent Support: Rugby Club Tilburg offers participants in the so-called Regio Rugby programme a reimbursement of up to 50 per cent of the participation fees. The remaining costs, which always amount to 50 per cent of the registration fee per person, are fixed costs for which no refund is possible. This amount must be collected by our club and paid to Regio Rugby.
     
13. Exception for non-members: players who are members of and play in a league (and therefore pay fees) at another rugby club, and who wish to train with us, are welcome subject to certain conditions. If they attend more than 5 training sessions, they must pay the non-playing member’s subscription fee to us.
     
14. Final provision: in accordance with Article 15 of the Internal Regulations: “In all cases not provided for in the Internal Regulations, the committee shall decide.”
